U.S. POWER SQUADRON VIDEO BOATING COURSE

Everything you need to know to earn a nationally recognized boating education certificate. A perfect way to introduce family and friends to boating. A great refresher course for more experienced boaters.

The USPS Boating Course video includes the complete Boating Course in an 80 minute video and a 240 page course manual. The course manual is keyed to constantly running reference numbers throughout the video and contains review questions for home study. When the student is comfortable with the course material, arrangements may be made for testing and certification through our Marathon Power Squadron. The USPS Boating Course is NASBLA approved and recognized by the US Coast Guard, and certification is honored in every state with education and/or licensing requirements.

It includes: 1)Boat Handling and Seamanship 2) Regulations, Safe Boating, Marlinespike and Weather 3) Charts, Aids to Navigation, and Regional Boating 4) Basic Navigation and Engine Troubleshooting 5) Piloting and Sailing 6) Navigation Rules, Marine Radiotelephone, and Boat Trailering.

Once the student has completed this Home Study program to their satisfaction, they will contact our Power Squadron to arrange taking the final test in a proctored setting.

The price of the Video Course is $39.95. Additional supplies such as chart plotters, dividers, etc. (if you don't already have them) might run another $20-$25.
