Viewing the sunset aboard "Seavonne" in the raft

Food was unbelievable at the Saturday night potluck. Besides the Crabs, Catfish, Snapper, & Dolphin we had LOTS of other great dishes. - Too much to even eat!

Sammy Dog on Creative Touch prefers a "hatch exit" rather than just walking down the side decks.

Bob Jensen sure knows how to grill up blackened fish!

Cdr Absten holds up the crab that got him! OUCH! That'll teach him to put his hands in the bucket without looking!

"Littlest Mate" Jessica Absten aboard P/C Mayhew's boat.

Now this looks like a roudy bunch of boaters!
Ride-em Harry! That's his and Diane's motosailer below.

Hal & Becky Meachum on Seavonne's aft deck. Their's is the powerboat below

A tow in progress with Sharkbyte and Cape Escape. Temporary problems were soon corrected. That's partly why we cruise together.

An impromptu "boating class" with P/C Jack Mayhew aboard Seavonne.

We really DO start them out young in the power squadron! If you've got young kids or grandkids please bring them along to our next boating rendezvous or picnic. The more we get together the more we'll find for them to do together.

Cdr Absten & Barbara Haertling working out the wetbar on Creative Touch.

We all hope we don't have to swim under our boats to work props or anchors while we're up Tarpon Bay!

OK - this is why we all really come up into the Everglades isn't it? - to see the Alligators? There was lots of wildlife out this weekend. Lots of Alligators, and we saw a Bald Eagle. Just don't let the kids or dog go swimming while anchored up here!!

Bill, Larry, Harry and Barbara get ready to "boogey" on our dinghy safari into the everglades swamps.

Our 3 dinghy safari gave gunkholing a new meaning on this trip. We made about a 5 mile tour deep up the small creeks - where we couldn't even pass with the dinghies, and had to turn around twice!

Cape Escape had a bit of a problem when it ran over this trap float on the way up, but skipper Larry braved the cold by going overboard and cutting it out of the props! Bill Greene - still dry and smiling - looks on. Barbara worked the radios and coordinated the salvage effort during the ordeal.
