This view is looking westward from Marathon into the Gulfside.

The view here is looking SE from Gulfside to Oceanside over both the old 7 mile bridge (the one with the cutout in it), and the new (far side) 7 mile bridge.

When boating around pigeon key and the 7 mile bridge area - use care because of all the surrounding flats and shoals - use your charts. In the early 1900's this served as the base camp for workers working on the 7 mile bridge for Flagler's overseas railroad. Now it's a historical site and museum. You can board a trolley at the Marathon end of the 7 mile bridge (on the south or oceanside off US 1 just past the base of the bridge) and ride out to visit the displays and many buildings. Local Marathon events include an annual art show and Halloween Haunted House weekend.  Call the Pigeon Key Visitor's center at 305-743-5999.
