It lets you view or printout satellite/aerial views of VERY small areas such as an inlet or harbor, with as much as 3 meter resolution. You have to keep "zeroing in" on the area you want so it's a little klutzy, but once you get there you get a really nice view of the area. We use this to look for channels and shoals in uncharted waters (clear water of course). We print out a copy of some of the places we go and use them in conjunction with the proper charts to get a better feel for the water. You can get a shot of your home this way too!
