KEY WEST NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE
a shoal group of Islands just West of Key West - and before you reach the
Marquesas
*Note - the US Government has placed most of this area
off limits. You are even forbidden from anchoring off Man and Woman Keys in the
Sand - even if you don't go ashore. Ballast Key is private and landing is
forbidden as well. Anchoring off the South part of Boca Grande is forbidden as
well - only on the NW portion. If you have the time we'd suggest going to the
Bahamas instead of here - where their government welcomes you to enjoy their
islands, and your reasonable care of it as a conscientious boater is presumed.

Service restrictions for the Key West National Wildlife Refuge, Great White
Heron National Wildlife Refuge, & National Key Deer Refuge (essentially ALL of
the Keys)
