MONROE COUNTY HURRICANE EVACUATION ZONES
and Hurricane Shelters*

EVACUATION ZONE 1
Key West through Shark Key, including Stock Island & Big Coppitt
- Glynn Archer Elementary School at 1302 White St
- Harbey Govt Center at 1200 Truman Ave
 
EVACUATION ZONE 2
Saddlebunch Keys through Sunshine Key including Bay Point, Sugarloaf, Budjoe, Summerland, Ramrod, Big Pine & Bahia Honea Keys.
- Sugarloaf Elementary School at US 1 & Crane Blvd, Mile Marker 19
EVACUATION ZONE 3
Seven mile bridge through Conch Key including Marathon & Key Colony Beach
- Stanley Switlik Elementary School at 3400 Overseas Highway (US 1) at Mile Marker 48.
 
EVACUATION ZONE 4
Long Key through Islamorada including Layton & Lower Matecumbe Key
- Island Christian School on US 1 at Mile Marker 83.5
EVACUATION ZONE 5
Windley Key through Mile Marker 94 in Key Largo including Plantation Key and Tavernier.
- Plantation Key Elementary School at 100 Lake Road at Mile Marker 90
 
EVACUATION ZONE 6
Mile Marker 94 in Key Largo up to, but not including Ocean Reef.
- Key Largo Elementary School, US 1 oceanside, Mile Marker 105
- St Justin Catholic Church, US1 Gulfside, Mile Marker 105.5
EVACUATION ZONE 7
Ocean Reef
- Evacuate to Dade County shelters by taking Florida turnpike to Florida International University at the US 41 / SW 8th St exit.
 

* Hurricane Shelters in Monroe County will be open in Category 1 & 2 Storms ONLY. Higher level storms will initiate evacuation and the shelters will not be opened.
