PICKWICK LAKE RESORT & MARINA, and area
- around the takeoff of the Tom-Bigbee waterway from the Tennessee River
Oct 30-31, 2001
in the vicinity of the Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi state junctions

Pickwick locks (around KY-TN border) on the Tennessee river is the entrance to Pickwick Lake and the State Park Marina. This was the getting off point for Lisa's family: Terri & John, CJ and Amber, and Lisa's mom Betty.

Here's a walk-around look at Creative Touch at the State Park Docks.

"Pirate John" walks the dock back to the boat. This is where they had to leave.

This was just prior to Halloween at the State Park Marina. The Park Ranger's office sponsored a Halloween party for the local kids and Amber (top left) and Jessica (lower left) got to go.

CREATIVE TOUCH departed Pickwick with just me, Lisa, Jessica and animals. Made Bay Springs Lake in Mississippi and anchored in Sawgrass Marsh - Cotton Springs Branch, by 4:15pm. This is a very nice, small and cozy cove. Have anchor out almost on one shore, and the stern tied to a tree on the opposite bank of the small cover. Did this by dropping the anchor right at shore, then maneuvering the boat around the other way while Lisa stood at the bow pulpit with a line in hand. I could get the bow right up to the tree on the bank where she puts a loop around a branch. Then we back away and pull them both tight so we're right in the middle. This keeps us from swinging too so we can even tune in the Satellite TV for news. A full moon is out tonight (Halloween Night - the first full moon on Halloween in 46 years) and LOTS of stars in this remote wooded cove. Nice night. Jessica like it too.

Below in the Tennessee River is the 3 State Junction of Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi. Here we hang a right hand turn out of the Tennessee River into Yellow Creek, which is the start of the Tom-Bigbee waterway all the way out to the Gulf of Mexico.

Full Moon on Halloween night - anchored in the small, wooded remote cove off Bay Springs lake.
